The BA Course with Major in English has been designed to provide students a methodical foundation in literature written in English English from the Anglo Saxon Period to the present. The course is not restricted to literature produced in the British Isles; it will introduce students to literature written in English from the United States of America and India. The course seeks to initiate students to contemporary literary theory and show the students how literature is connected to culture and society. This should help the students realize the importance of interdisciplinary studies.
The BA (Major) course also offers four optional areas Indian, American, Cultural Studies, African studies; these options allow students to exercise their individual preference, however, the Department, reserves the right to offer optional papers depending on the number of students opting for a particular course and the availability of faculty.

Eligibility
HS (10 + 2) in any discipline securing 45% marks in aggregate ( 5% relaxation for Reserved Category.)
