Department of Earth Science, University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya is offering Ph.D. programme in Geography and Environmental Science. Any master degree holder having M.A./M.Sc. in Geography and M.Sc. in Environmental Science and its allied subjects can pursue Ph.D. from the department.

Eligibility
The candidates will be selected on basis of statement of purpose (SOP), academic performances, entrance and personal interview. Conversely, the candidates who have cleared UGC/CSIR NET can directly sit for the personal interview.
Subjects
The subject area in Geography for doing Ph.D. are: Water resource management, Application of remote sensing and GIS, Regional planning development, Social geography, Fluvial geomorphology, Cultural geography and Disaster management. Students can do Ph.D. in Environmental Science on the following subject areas: Wildlife ecology, Application of remote sensing and GIS, Forest ecology, natural hazards, Monitoring different pollutants and biodiversity in spheres of environment and Water resource management.
Duration
Ph.D. course is for minimum 3 years however, candidate can complete their work within 5-7 years.
